The Ventura County Baseball Academy was created by Dustin Tubb, Steve Henson and Marcus Garcia in 2015 to develop junior high players and prepare them for high school baseball. The program has grown and now includes teams at several age groups. VCBA 17U and 16U teams play in elite tournaments and showcases to prepare players for college baseball. The VCBA home field is Newbury Park High School and players are welcome from throughout Ventura County and the San Fernando Valley.

VCBA Black Cats will conduct practices and training sessions at Newbury Park High School on the Varsity field, 3 cage batting facility, bullpens, and the pitching training wall. The training will be conducted on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00 – 7:00 PM. There will also be strength and conditioning on Fridays. Workouts begin 8/9 and 8/11 at the NPHS Varsity field. VCBA Black Cats is a developmental program to prepare middle schoolers for high school baseball.

Defense Infield Play (focus on building and developing the footwork and throwing mechanics for playing the middle infield and comer positions)
Defense Outfield Play (focus on building and developing the footwork and throwing mechanics for playing outfield)
Defense Catchers Play (focus on building and developing the footwork and throwing mechanics for playing catcher)
Pitching (focus on building and developing arm strength, and upper and lower body mechanics for pitchers)
